Paper Prototypes
Paper prototypes are an efficient and low-cost option for quickly testing our design. Based on our information architecture and storyboards, we set up our three key paths and built our initial paper prototypes on index cards.
Task 1: Initial set up
For this task, the user will create an account, set a security pin, and assign their emergency contacts.
Task 2: Normal walk
For this task, we want the user to interact with LightHouse to guide them on their walk home. This walk home will be considered a “safe walk” with the user ending at home without ever having to contact their emergency personnel.
Task 3: Panic walk
For this task, users will start a walk but use the panic button before they end their route. Users will use the panic button to contact emergency dispatchers as well as send a message to one of their contacts.
Our next step was to receive feedback on our paper prototypes from real potential users by conducting a usability test.
